Is creatine safe for long-term use?

Creatine is the number one choice of sports supplement for athletes.

There are few, if any, remaining concerns about the short-term use of creatine but there are still no guarantees of long-term safety.

Because creatine is both manufactured in the body and naturally present in a number of foods, most researchers have assumed that its toxicity is low.

Many past studies on athletes showed that even the high doses required to produce rapid creatine saturation in the muscles (10-20 grams per day) seem to be perfectly safe in the short term, despite the occasional anecdotal report of side effects like bloating.

But many researchers have remained concerned about the potential longer-term health effects of prolonged creatine supplementation, particularly on the health of the kidneys.

Ingesting large doses of creatine over a long period of time could theoretically place a significant extra burden on the kidneys, possibly leading to damage for those with less than perfect kidney function.

I am not a certified neutritionalist or doctor but have studied extensively over the past few years and I believe that creatine is safe and healthy. In addition Creatine is a natural compound that works like a gas pump for your muscles. The fuel from which muscle cells draw energy is a molecule called adenosine triphosphate (ATP), and creatine helps cells make new ATP to keep your tank from running low. Your kidneys, liver, and pancreas make about 1 to 2 grams of creatine every day, and most people get about that much daily from meat or fish in their diet.
Many athletes, however, see creatine as something else: a shortcut to victory. From high school to the Olympics to big-time professional sports, cans of creatine have become almost standard equipment for some competitors. Today's creatine craze is built on a simple premise: The supplement safely builds muscle and strength. I’m also using creatine for body mass. Generally I buy Super-Sports Creatine from bayho which is an online store. For more search on creatine you may check this site.
