The Proper Way Of Losing Weight
Everyone has heard of the very famous dieting pills. These
things have gained notoriety and recognition because of the
endorsements made by many known stars, both in the Philippines
and internationally.
Because of this, many people are led to believe that one can
lose weight by just taking these pills. However, there is no
instant way to losing weight. It takes discipline, and patience.
What most people don't know is that the stars promoting these
said pills have gained their desirable physiques not just
through pills, but through other routines for losing weight.
These routines include exercise, and proper dieting.
But why does one have to lose weight? Why not let fat people
just stay the way they are now?
Mental and Physical Effects of Too Much Fat In Our Body
Our body uses fat to store calories, which are then burned by
the body and converted into a form of energy. However, there is
an optimal amount of fat that should be present in the body. Any
excess of this level will be destructive and not good for the
body.
Having too much fat means there is too much cholesterol in the
body. Although the body uses cholesterol for certain functions,
having too much of it in the blood could clog the lining of the
blood vessels. This clogging could result to higher levels of
blood pressure, which could then lead to problems and diseases
related to the heart.
Being obese or overweight can also cause social and
psychological problems for a person. A person who is fat could
be subject to ridicule by his or her peers, especially during
the teenage years when one can be persecuted for being simply
different from the rest. This could result to emotional and
self-esteem problems, including depression that also could lead
to heart problems as well as ulcers.
Losing Weight Through Exercise and Proper Diet
Exercise helps a person greatly in his quest to shed off weight
and fat. This is because exercise causes the body to burn the
calories (and hence, the fat) to use as energy for the
movements. That is why we sweat when exercise, because the body
is literally burning off the fat in our muscles.
Exercise speeds up the body's metabolism so it can digest and
convert food into energy faster, preventing the accumulation of
body fat. With a faster metabolism, one becomes more conscious
about his food intake. Because of this, he can effectively
control his diet to prevent taking in more nutrients than his
body needs.
Exercise is always coupled with a proper diet. To keep up with
the momentum of the fat lost through exercise, one must prevent
reacquiring the fat by eating more than what is required. Proper
diet also means that you have to eat on time.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It is through
breakfast that you take in reserves of calories that you would
as a source of energy later on during the day. Thus, it is
during breakfast that one should eat a lot, and not during lunch
and especially not during dinner. |
